چکیده

This study presents an interactive airline network design procedure to facilitate bargaining interactions necessitated by international code-share alliance agreements. Code sharing involves partner airlines individually maximizing their own profits, while mutually considering overall profitability, traffic gains, and quality benefits for the markets in which they cooperate with their partners. This study uses a reference point method to solve the interactive multiobjective programming model, to support the bargaining interactions between two partner-airlines in an alliance negotiation. The impact of the code-share alliance network on market demand, alliance partners costs and profits, and levels of service are also discussed. A case study demonstrates the feasibility of applying the proposed models and elucidates how interactive multiobjective programming models may be applied to determine flight frequencies for airline code-share alliance networks. The results of this study provide ways by which alliance airlines can evaluate iteratively the output and profits of the alliance members under code-share alliance agreements. 2005 Elsevier B.V. A Duality Based Approach for Network Revenue Management in Airline Alliances

In this paper, we develop a revenue management model for airline alliances. In particular, our model allows the members of the alliance to decide how to share the revenues from itineraries spanning flight legs operated by multiple airlines and how to coordinate their capacity allocation decisions. We start with a deterministic linear programming approximation to the revenue management problem t...

Two-stage stochastic programming model for capacitated complete star p-hub network with different fare classes of customers

In this paper, a stochastic programming approach is applied to the airline network revenue management problem. The airline network with the arc capacitated single hub location problem based on complete–star p-hub network is considered. We try to maximize the profit of the transportation company by choosing the best hub locations and network topology, applying revenue management techniques to al...

Revenue Sharing in Airline Alliances

W propose a two-stage game-theoretic approach to study the operations of an airline alliance in which independent carriers, managing different reservation and information systems, can collaboratively market and operate codeshare and interline itineraries. In the first-stage game, airlines negotiate fixed proration rates to share the revenues generated by such itineraries. In the second-stage ga...

Cockpit Crew Pairing Problem in Airline Scheduling: Shortest Path with Resources Constraints Approach

Increasing competition in the air transport market has intensified active airlines’ efforts to keep their market share by attaching due importance to cost management aimed at reduced final prices. Crew costs are second only to fuel costs on the cost list of airline companies. So, this paper attempts to investigate the cockpit crew pairing problem. The set partitioning problem has been used for ...
